People come and people go
Promised made to and fro
Holding on to promised untold
Unaware of what will unfold
Deep inside you know it’s a lie
Coated with colored sugary dye
Expectations can make you cry
Does it holds true if my eyes
are dry?
A Moment and a breath to hold
forever
Was it true or a cloying favor
And the care that came as a
package
Seems now, more like a baggage
Does it matter if one of them
care?
As long as it’s not a two sided
affair
Promises made are awfully
vulnerable
That’s what makes them so
valuable

This piece carries a quiet thunder—soft in tone but hitting deep. I love how you unravel the fragility of promises with such honest, unflinching imagery. The shift from sweetness to burden is especially powerful. It’s reflective, vulnerable, and beautifully human. Truly, this reads like a promise kept to the craft itself.
